About every 30 seconds I see the light on my Cdrom
turn on and it looks like its seaking for a cdrom. When this occurs my
system pauses and waits for about 3 seconds. Does anyone know what is
causing this and what I can do to make it stop.
I have a Scsi Cdrom and Burner if that could ma
a sun ultra 10 box. I cannot do it using setenv
DISPLAY. It says cannot open Nedit for instance. It is running
solaris. So what do I need to do to beable to login remotely.

I am having a problem using perl to authorize users
for a web project I am working on.
I am using getpwnam $user[1]; to
get the users password to compare to the crypted version of it.
However when running the perl script, I only get x,
the shadowed version of it. To get the right crypted
seperate the sites?

Im running Red hat 7.2 and I have apache set up for my main site. I am
trying to configure apache to give each user a publi_html folder and
Cgi-bin, that can be accessed by
http://hostname/~user/
However I cant get it working anyone got any tips or suggestions on how to
make it work.

Its scsi and it never had trouble before, the only new thing
in this install was that I added a new /home partition to a new
drive.
The scsi card shows up on the procinfo so I dont have a clue
whats wrong.

configure the connection with adsl-setup, but it doesnt exist.
Even after I installed the rp-ppoe rpm, all that is there is adsl-start and it
wont owrk b/c of no config file.
