I am running RH7.3 with KDE3.0.3 Something has gone wrong with the setup of one user. KDE fails as it is trying to start the windows manager; the system hangs completely, the keyboard locks and the only way out is to hit the reset button. Other users and root are ok. Has anybody had a similar e

HI, I'm running KDE3.0.3 on RH7.3. One of my users has a problem - when kde is loading it gets as far as loading the windows manager and then hangs.. The machine is totally locked up and the only solution is to hit the reset button. The other users and root are fine. Has anyone come across th

om what I can find on the net I think that I have to create a file in /etc called "hostname" and put my chosen hostname in there, and then edit the /etc/host file. Is this correct? Will it cause problems? Any advice appreciated Chris Harris S

I can read on the net I need to create a file called /etc/hostname and put my chosen name in this. and then edit /etc/hosts to include my new name as localhost. Am I on the right path? Is this correct for RH7.3? Will it cause any problems? Is there a better way to do it? Any suggestions welcome Ch
