I did solve it for a little while by unsubscribing, and resubscribing, but

Sorry I've been busy getting married this weekend, so as you can imagine
my mind has been on other things.
I'll have a look through the answers and see what I come up with. All I
can say is that I was able to send email outside of the local domain
when I had RH7.2 installed. It is since I have in
work without manual interaction at boot? Anthony E. Greene gave two different
configurations for /etc/hosts. How could they be used, are two different
configurations necessary?
Cheers and thanks

om what I can find on the net I think that I have to create a file in /etc
called "hostname" and put my chosen hostname in there, and then edit the
/etc/host file.
Is this correct?
Will it cause problems?
Any advice appreciated

I can read on the net I need to
create a file called /etc/hostname and put my chosen name in this. and
then edit /etc/hosts to include my new name as localhost.
Am I on the right path?
Is this correct for RH7.3?
Will it cause any problems?
Is there a better way to do it?
Any suggestions welcome
