Regarding Best and Tripplite -
Best:
Don't let their website prices fool you - you can get them a lot cheaper
(even from them). Their software is open source too, and the model I have
also has battery life calculation which is great.
Tripplite:
Their software requires a GUI to properly install.

in there is a place under the anti-spam filters that has places where
you can specify allowable relays. i think that might fix your relay
problem.

Besides this, bin86 has been renamed dev86 under 7.0.
It provides as86 which is needed for recompiling the kernel.

In all honesty, the best bet with Linux is to use an external modem,
rather than the PCI based modems. Most of them are Winmodems, meaning
that most of the functionality resides in the system, not in the modem
itself. Some of them are hardware based, but are still a bit difficult to

Hi,
I have RedHat Linux 6.2. I have DLink SM56 PCI SpeakerPhone Modem(internal or s/w Modem). Can I use it on

It uses Motorola SM56PCI Chipset.

I did get the floppy to boot as it should. It just would not run the resume on
the box. When it did run I got to the point that it said LI and stopped.
It took a hard reset to get it to run again?

Well I am running, it took booting off a floppy to get up and going. Now I need to

it did this. I read that it could be files that are corrupt in /sbin/init. How can I

Thank you for the help.

Hello!
Well, I don't know much about nameservers, so maybe someone can help me with an
idea how to improve my configuration.
I use bind-8 on a Mandrake 7.2 server as DNS for our local network. Queries for
names (our IPs) outside the local net are forwarded to our providers DNS.

Bob, my RH7 system does not have "bin86", but I do have the dev86 package installed.
I think this package provides what you are looking for:

Also, is the square-wave standby power a problem? Is the sine-wave an
important improvement for an orderly shutdown?
Thanks,
