You state that ifconfig does not show any information on eth0 when you run just "ifconfig". However if you run "ifconfig eth0" then you get some information. I submit to you that this is the normal operation of ifconfig provided that your system is not initializing/starting your network card on

You should not have to reinstall linux. I setup FP once. If I recall correctly it was just a shell script that installed it. You should be able to easily deinstall all files by following the script. Same for the Apache rpm. If you don't trust the rpm -e, first do a rpm -ql and dump th eoutput t

just because kudzu found it, doen't mean it's configured, or brought up. You should find it quite obvious to setup properly using linuxconf or netconf, or manually setting up files in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts. Then to start it do ifup eth0 and use ifdown eth0 to stop it. hth charles On
