Dear Petr, This is a Windows OS issue, not peculiar to R. There are some reserved names that can't be used for files, including COM1 (the first serial port). Other examples include LPT1 and AUX. Because file names in windows are case-insensitive "com1.txt" also causes problems. I hope this hel
