Hm, I am not an expert in this field but trying to use obviously old package which was removed about 5 years ago from CRAN is asking for problems. There is probably some incompatibility between recent R version and obsolete package. You either 1. need to install/compile R version from 2012

Hi You did not provide necessary information but my gues is that there is some version incompatibility as AFAIK there is no fdim package in recent R version. Did you try examples from fdim docs? Did they work? You should tell us your R version and fdim version. see ?version and ?packageVersion
