[Qemu-devel] Stange problems with raw_co_get_block_status lseek path

2015-06-02 Thread David Weber
Hello, I'm currently evaluating to switch our virtualization servers to a newer OS. This includes a switch from qemu 1.7 to 2.2 or 2.3. Our system heavily relies on big sparse images and drive_mirror. While testing, I experienced some problems with that combination. The strange thing is, that e

We have the exactly same problem on our NUMA systems. The clock of windows 2008 guests sometimes just stops and it becomes slow when you are connected via rdp. After connecting to qemu's vnc server everything runs fine again. The problem seems to occour more often when the host is under pressure.

[Qemu-devel] Strange clock issues with Windows Server 2008 R2

[Qemu-devel] Block-Migration eats my memory

2012-01-25 Thread David Weber
Hi, we are trying to upgrade our systems from kvm 0.14 (Ubuntu 11.04) to 1.0 (Ubuntu 12.04). Everything works fine except block-migration. When startet, the kvm process allocates the size of the image as memory, which of course leads to an oom an large machines. I tried to debug with valgrind

Public bug reported: I tried to open a qcow2 file with qemu-nbd and backup the files in it. After some coping I get lot of I/O errors in dmesg and the system hangs. One time I got even a kernel panic (Of course on a productive Server ;-) ) How to reproduce: 1. Connect nbd to a qcow2 file, a virtu
