That forced mirror mode disappeared on my setup after setting the resolution in
the game's menu and restarting the game IIRC. Or may have been some other
graphic setting, but it definitely isn't happening here anymore.

As far as I know there will eventually be a free update on gog.com, but it is
delayed compared to steam. The developers explain this on the steam forum of
the game. I'm waiting for that update, too.
