hi,
here [1] are the diffs for gtk+2 and friends that should apply.
an expanding set of diffs are available at [2] for some other ports
across the tree that are needed/are part of the gnome update.
please test the gtk stuff, and report any issues.

I am having no trouble I compiled on both a Pentium 4 and a pentium 3
both worked fine.

Don't be afraid to test it. It works perfectly fine for me with Firefox
and Gaim on i386. IIRC gtk+ update will break old gnome, as some of it
libs depend on internals
