Could be something else though. Is there an entry in dmesg when you try to run it? If there is, check that you have 'wxallowed' in the filesystem holding /usr/local/bin - it should be there by default, but you might have changed something $ mount | grep $(df /usr/local/bin | awk '/dev/ {print $6}'
