gmake: parse error: error in archive specification

I see a strange output with ports gmake. I thought it had something to do with our env vars. But a simple gmake call in ${WRKSRC} produces the same error. Under Linux and GUN make this does not happen. (Tested with Debian Sid) We can see the some error message in sysutils/node_exporter if we use
