Porting trouble with gambit-c

I am trying to build a port of gambit-c, a scheme compiler and interpreter. When I configure and build it manually I have not problems and the build goes fine. When I use the ports framework, the builds craps out with a error about an undefined function and symbol. I think it is the default conf
