Nevermind. I figured out what was going on, so for the archives and documenting my silliness :-) I assumed when specifying USE_SYSTRACE=Yes it uses systrace for every step of the build. Apparently this is only true for /bin/sh /usr/bin/env /usr/bin/make and gmake. So at first glance looks like we
