Well, keep in mind, Plasma was not originally intended to be cross-platform. It was a happy accident of being not-tied-as-tightly to Kwin and X as the developers hoped. It may be possible to fall back on the old 2D ZUI when in Windows, for example. But the original purpose of Plasma was to be th
