1) For a simple for loop, PHP, ASP, JSP, etc will all be
able to execute 2 (2000 x 10) iterations of a loop in less
then 1 on decent hardware (my home PC does locally)...

The numbers you quote are absurd, it entirely depends
on WHAT IS INSIDE YOUR LOOP however.
