Solved! The API-SOA-EDIT was missing for the domain in the domainmetadata table. After I added one, the serial started to change as expected! :) On Sat, Oct 20, 2018 at 11:57 AM Siniša Burina wrote: > Hi! > > When querying the zone with dig or host commmands, I'm getting the proper > serial numb

[Pdns-users] SOA Serial via API

Hi! When querying the zone with dig or host commmands, I'm getting the proper serial number. But when I make the query via API, it shows "1", and the fact is, there's really a number 1 in the database. Is there a way to get the real serial number via API call, so it can be shown, for example, in t

Hi list, I came across a very strange problem with my powerdns installation. As info, I'm using powredns since some years now, started with replacing bind slaves with pdns. No I finally got to replace the last bind based one, my master/slave server. p-dns:~ # pdns_server --version Jul 26 11:54:46

Hi Luca, Normally, the SOA-serial is what you set in your database. If you've never set it, you might be using the auto-serial feature. It would be helpful if you provide some information about your powerdns setup (config files, etc). You can also simply change the SOA record in your database t

Hi, Is it possible to change the SOA serial number format to the YYYMMDDnn format? I can't seem to see a setting in the pdns.conf file... Thanks. Luca. ___ Pdns-users mailing list Pdns-users@mailman.powerdns.com http://mailman.powerdns.com/mailman/list

Hi Christoph, I was talking to Bert this morning about this. It turns out his formulae didn't work for me, because e.g. the INCEPTION formula means the SOA serial number doesn't change even when zones are updated. What I'm using now (r2105) is INCREMENT-WEEKS which works like this: the incoming S
