Ok, great. Do we have an idea on the release timeline for 4.2? The reason I
ask is that Maxmind have said that the legacy .DAT database file will be
discontinued in Jan 2019.

After digging into this more, it seems that the problem is that 4.1.3 does not
support MMDB. That support is going to be added in v4.2.0. It should not crash
though, but the fix is going to be more like "your database is not supported"
-type of fix, if accepted by maintainers.
