I have checked the other zone (where it points to) and indeed: there
was a broken record.
Seems like one of the other servers stopped AXFR and served cache
which misleaded me.

If I check-zone it, it complains, that I did not set up delegation in ".".
I have a "." zone to fake not-(yet-)existing zones (because of
cache-lag / hidden master).
