Yes, we experienced the same thing.
We tried it with nslookup AND with dig.
Even turning debugging on in pdns (and/or resolver => am not sure at the
moment, quite long time ago) showed that it happened as described.
We used pdns latest stable deb-package from backports with debian sarge.
