With Pan, it is easy enough to filter out posts from the many cranks
present in different Usenet forum. However, what I have not been able to do
is filtering out responses to that postings from other people.
With Pan, is it possible to filter out any threads initiated by a
particular individual?

Here's the issue: Filtering out posts from well known cranks and
trolls is easy to do with Pan. However, I would also like to be able
to filter out any responses to such posts, no matter who is

I was wondering if Pan can do the following:
Let's assume take a user U in a given group G. U is a crank, a

possible with Pan?
I have my filters set up so that posts from a number of individuals are
deleted automatically before I even get to see them. What I would like to
do is set up a filter that will do the same to all responses to such posts,
no matter who is replying. At first I thought this would be possible by

I have my text group pan instance set to never expire as well.
This may be a silly question but - how on earth do you do that? I
have clicked on just about every single menu on Pan 0.131, and have so
far been unable to find how to do that.

Is it possible to assign scores (and therefore, filtering) on the

some fields, like NNTP-Posting-Host; it would be nice to be able to
