Thanks for your reply however I do not see a clue of the problem I've
described :-(. I've already been there and the only thing that concerns me
is the statement "...other modules which require shared memory support do
not work on Windows Vista and later versions due to address space layout

Sorry, I forgot to add this information.
I did try 1.6.1 and 1.7.4 all with the same results.
Log entries do not show anything useful apart from the request being
received in access log and derived to upstream server. No errors on error
log.
The configuration is the default nginx config plus one
I've configured a reverse proxy for images on a windows box however it is
not working as expected.
First time I send a request to the server and I get the image with an http
200 as expected.
Second hit the request hangs for about a minute returning an http 304 as
expected however I do not understa
