Your build machine probably has a more recent
version of the .NET Framework (eg. 2.0) installed, than the machine on which you
tried to run NAnt.
By default, NAnt will run on latest supported CLR
(which is .NET Framework 2.0 / Mono 2.0 profile), and build assemblies targeting
that

I just did a build of nant, and it worked fine on the
machine I built it on, then I copied the folder to another machine and when I try
to run NAnt, I get the following dialog box that pops up (both NAnt.exe files
are the same size):
