For the last few weeks the team has been working on getting the Firefox for
iOS code base migrated to Swift 3. I'm happy to announce that we're now in
a good position to land the migration changes [1] onto our main development

I'm pleased to say that we are almost done with the Swift 3.0 migration,
which was started 2 weeks ago. We are currently resolving regressions
identified after the full migration and expect to be completely finished
with the migration in the next few days, with the code land
I'm finishing up my current gig in a couple of weeks, and intend to
spend two or three months contributing to open source before getting
back to paid employment.
I am currently leading the Swift 3 migration for a large health
insurance company's app, and would love to help out in any way I can

than later. I hope we can do it for version 8.0. That is an intent, not a
full commitment yet.
