I have two different mailing lists on two different domains. One has been in
operation for some time ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) and the other is new
([EMAIL PROTECTED])
The new rockhound list is doing something that is causing me fits.
The "From" address looks like this:

The errors suggest that the ownership should be httpd:mailman with
--with-mail-gid=httpd, but that seems silly. I think it should be
postfix:mailman and --with-mail-gid=postfix but then how would Apache,
running as httpd, be able to do anything?

When attempting to create a list from Mailman's web interface, I get:
Error: Unknown virtual host: lists.risd.edu
I can create lists at the command line just fine.
How can I correct this?

I see the problem. you have two lists named "dm" and "dm-admin", but
LISTNAME-admin is one of the aliases created for every LISTNAME.

Is it possible to insertt the 'Member Name' within the body of the welcome
message?
I haven't been able to find a variable that works, I've tried:

%(username)s
%(user_address)s
These all come through as code, not as the subscriber's full name.

I don't have an answer to your question, but do you have access to your
DNS servers? If so, I would recommend you create a host address like
lists.example.com and have that point to your e-mail server. That way all
of your url redirects will work correctly.
