I don't use a Unix system to read email, but that doesn't mean that
I get duplicates. Microsoft Exchange (server) handles turfing
messages with duplicate message IDs just fine. There is no reason
why other mail systems can't do this too.

Give your alias a SMTP address on the Exchange server so that it

On FreeBSD I'd use the -i option

has behaved for a couple of years. As long as I can easily turn it
off before completing the install (by changing mm_cfg.py for instance)

Ok this is getting just a wee bit upsetting.
I have mailman 2.0.5, qmail 1.03, and vpopmail 4.9.10
qmail's preline for some reason dumps every time it's ran via the
.qmail-name file with the error
"deferral: preline:_fatal:_child_crashed/" and continues to run the queue
message. The rerunning do

Well, in fact i have a similar problem, i have a
mailing list where just the subscribers be allow to
post (all of them are [EMAIL PROTECTED],
[EMAIL PROTECTED],[EMAIL PROTECTED] except one user
included in the list [EMAIL PROTECTED] who can´t
post and his posters are send to the administrator to
configuration, but if people are interested in
more detail on configuring Windows 2000 SMTP for maximum performance I
can help out quite a bit.

excepting for held messages.
On any list that I require message moderation for subscribed users,
the messages go no where.The users also get no reply even though

I am interested in this option as well. Here is a scenario:
When people send a message to the group and don't sign their name, I want their
name to be picked from the membership list and mentioned at the top of the body
as From:
It will follow with their message in the body of the email.
