I am new to this mailman business, I was wondering if there is an easy way to allow
people to auto subscribe. Is there an email address that they can send an email to
that will auto subscribe them?

imho mailman is far from accessing odbc-sources.
Your solution is to write a small perl-script that accesses you
acessdatabase, checks for new entries after the last call and add this
entries using the add_members program coming with mailman.
Of course it does not need to be perl ;)
