Expecting it helps someone else, here is an abstract of what should be
done in order to advertise a new list.
1.- Under the privacy options, be sure to check on "Advertise this list
when people ask what lists are on this machine" (indeed I had it).

You've probably already found this, but just in case - Look on the web
admin pages under Privacy options and make sure that your lists are
Advertised.
If that is already checked, then go back to the General page and make
sure that Base URL is matches your "mysite/mailman/".
