I was under the impression that the Admin page would process case changes
only on the list name (at least thats what it says :-) ??

Turn off MTA
Go into your MTA aliases and update $oldname aliases to $newname
Go into $prefix/archives/public/
mv $oldname $newname
mv $oldname.mbox $newname.mbox
Go into $prefix/archives/private/
mv $oldname $newname
mv $oldname
