If you go to the administrative interface of your list
and click on General Options you will find a bunch of things to turn off.
If you are using the Auto-Responder you may have to turn things off there,
too.

We are looking to setup a test site in the lab.
I was able to copy production over for some testing
and everything comes up with a few issues.
