I want to apply the patches to fix the Subject line break issue, so it looks
like I'm going to have to upgrade from 2.1 to 2.1.1 (if I'm wrong about
this, please let me know). Has anyone done this, and what issues did you
encounter?
Thanks!

Well, I certainly appreciate everyone taking the time to look at this issue.
Sounds like there's no good solution (well, I could "encourage" people to
get off of Outlook--that'll go over well), so I'll just tell them to suck it
up.
Thanks,
Tom

Evidently, you are correct. :-/
So, that's not my problem, then, but my problem remains unresolved. In a
nutshell, here's what I'm observing:

so will have, plus I'm not entirely sure that those are the lines I should
be changing.

Sorry about that. No, I was referring to a message from a few days ago, in
which I had asked how to alter the From: header from the default, which
displays "-b
Okay, I give--what source changes do I need to make to alter the default

So, according to this post
http://www.mail-archive.com/mailman-users@python.org/msg03976.html, Mailman
2.1 is supposed to support completely automated list creation through the
web, which I assume includes creating the aliases. The problem is that
aliases don't get created. I checked the perms on

I've since restarted Mailman, and archiving is still hosed. If anyone
Hi, everyone,
I'm rapidly racking up what I'm sure must be a record number of posts to
this list, so I hope you'll all forgive me.
Anyway, my latest issue is that Mailman stopped archiving messages last
night around 9:30 p.m., for no apparent reason. There's nothing in the logs
to indicate why a

Well, yeah . . . I was hoping for something simpler.

Hi, all,
I just upgraded to Mailman 2.1, and apparently a change has been made in how
the From: header is contructed. I'd like to change it back.
The specific issue is that mail for each list appears to the client as from
[EMAIL PROTECTED] instead of as being from the actual sender,
which was th

The proper list is receiving email. The *config* settings are wrong.

Hi all,
Yet another strange problem here. Apparently, the config for one of our
lists has been mysteriously supplanted with the config for another list.
I've rebuilt the old config, but now mail for the one list is still going to
the other.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Tom

I am indeed using sendmail. I guess I'll have to write a script to process
the output from genaliases, then.

is a ridiculous question that
reveals my ignorance, but what else needs to be done to get the aliases to
work? Do I need to post-process the genaliases output with another script?

I have an odd problem with Mailman 2.0.8 that appears to have been going on
for a while. To wit, the config_list program doesn't appear to actually
update a target list. When I run config_list with the -v option, it says
that the specified attributes have been changed, but when I run

I've just been assigned the task of managing an existing mailman

reappearing, occasionally in a corrupted state (membership list and
