I would like to modify bounce settings such that I am notified of bounces immediately
instead of a week or two down the road, based on list traffic. The settings are not
clear to me. Which settings should I change to achieve this? The settings appear to be
interrelated.

Regarding the footer problem, the FAQ says:
1. Configure Mailman to remove the footer
2. Configure Mailman to strip all HTML and MIME formatting and send out all
messages as text-only (text/plain)
3. Get everyone to change the MUA they use to one that is more
HTML/MIME-aware
4. Live with

I have two MailMan lists for my son's school's football teams -- Varsity and JV. I
need to create a master list that has the two lists as its only members such that an
email sent to [EMAIL PROTECTED] is distributed to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and [EMAIL
PROTECTED] Because of bouncing, relying to the li

language?
Thanks,

I posted this message before, but it was held by the administrator thinking
it was an admin request. If it ever made it to the list, I did not see it,

Isn't it possible to configure MM such that a message sent to listname-
[EMAIL PROTECTED] subscribes a new member? I thought it worked that
way, but I cannot get it to work. The Help message shows that
subscribe is an option. Maybe something is set wrong.
When I send the Who command to the list and get the response from the
server, each email address has 8 spaces in front of it. I would like to
express at least one request to remove those spaces in the code that
generates the list as I have to manually do so when I am moving addresses
between lists.
How can I set MM to notify me if even a SINGLE email bounces?

I don't think I can get to the send filters below since I don't have root
access to my server.

I do not have access to the MailMan logs on my shared server. Is there a way -- within

This question has been discussed at length, but I don't know if there
ever was a definitive answer. Is there a way to cause MM not to send
the nuisance text attachments that accompany HTML posts to the list? My
server is 2.1.3.

I just created a new mailing list with only 27 subscribers. While all
of the email addresses should be correct, how can I know TODAY whether
any of the messages are bouncing?
Thanks,

Never mind. It helps to use the right password.
That being said, how can a subscriber cause his password to be resent?
I had to unsubscribe and then resubscribe myself to find my missing
(subscriber) password.

The text for the "To" field on messages sent out by a list that I have
using 2.1.2 is "An email list for XXX show preparation." I originally
entered that information, but now I cannot find it. Where is that
option configured?

How do I make a closed or private list with 2.1.2 such that 1) only the
admin can add new list members, and 2) the list members can still
unsubscribe themselves?
