About a month ago I had a year-old version of mailman running on my
Fedora Core 1 mail server. FC1 installed mailman in /var/mailman, which
I added to my daily backup schedule. I have since then wiped the FC1
box and installed Gentoo on it. I have finally gotten mailman to work
properly. On the
I posted this to the gentoo-user list yesterday, but since no one
responded I'll post it here too.
I've been trying all afternoon to get some response from email requests
to subscribe to my test list. I discovered after many hours of trying
that the mailman daemon wasn't even running. This confu
I have two PC's; a server (bullet) and a client (baby). bullet has
Fedora Core 1 installed on it; baby has Gentoo. I wanted to wipe bullet
and install Gentoo on it, but it's in use as a www/ftp/email server for
myself and my three other users. I am going to recreate the environment

New question: It occurred to me that maybe I should attempt to start
mailman before I attempted to stop it. I issued "service mailman start"
and it gave me this output:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] init.d]# service mailman start
Site list is missing: mailman
I have a file called sitelist.cfg in /var/mail
I issued the "service mailman restart" command to which it gave the the
output:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] Mailman]# service mailman restart
PID unreadable in: /var/mailman/data/master-qrunner.pid
[Errno 2] No such file or directory:

Is qrunner even running?

mailman hasn't been working right since Monday morning. I thought it
might be a sendmail problem because it stopped working after I started
trying to alter sendmail.mc, but I just found a backup of /etc/mail from
Sunday night when mailman was working and restored it, it mailman still
doesn't work.
I'm looking for a good book on mailman that will explain setting it up
and day-to-day operations involved with mailman. I've searched
Amazon.com and O'Reilly.com and not had any luck finding one. Can
anyone give me any recommendations for a good book to help me work with
mailman?

Is there anyone out there who is willing to help me set up mailman on my
Fedora Core system? I used the rpm and now I can't even get it to send
me a notification email when I set up a new list using newlist when I'm
the list owner.

I have a question. I use Fedora Core 1 and I just got mailman up and
working today. I guess this is sort of a tweaking question. I set my
mm_cfg.py's DEFAULT_URL_HOST to www.espersunited.com (my domain) and
DEFAULT_EMAIL_HOST to bullet.espersunited.com (I tried using just plain
espersunited.com,
the
tests, but it didn't tell me what to do with the results. Please
help!!!

I have mailman set up correctly (I think); I followed the tutorial at
http://www.yolinux.com/TUTORIALS/LinuxTutorialMailman.html and I've got
the web interface set up. During setup I told mailman that the list

looks the least bit out of place is that the access times on the qrunner
lock files are always 10 hours or so in the future. I'm not sure if this is
normal behavior or what.
Any ideas? I don't really know where else to look for my problem.
