What do the bounce logs say about that user? Did the bounce register? Not
all hard or soft bounces can be determined. I actually scan my mail logs
for hard bounces and delete them even faster than Mailman would.

1. You have image(s) sent in the email. They ideally are better sourced to
a server. (It also make the email smaller and transmits faster.)

What version are you using? There are several different HTML pages to manage Mailman.
For instance, this list management info is at:
http://mail.python.org/mailman/admin/mailman-users. Yours should be in a similar
place.
Look at the List- headrers for your own list and then select the admin p
Read the thread from this week that is titled:
[Mailman-Users] Re: Keeping the Publich_HTML subscription page from
popping up.
It is in Public HTML pages on the main menu.
