Hi folks
...turns out we have just one badly-munged list. So, if anyone knows
how to clean up databases help would be welcome, otherwise, I'm just
retrieving the relevant list info and rebuilding it.

I've had /Cgi/private.py open, adding in the

However, reverting to the original private.py doesn't change things. So

Hi all
I've finally written up the most significant parts of a Mailman
makeover we've done here at ALIA.
If you're interested, head over to:

..and have a dig around. In a very small nutshell, the pages there

Ahhh SuSE. Jim's pointer [via Mark] is good: You should change
/etc/mailman.cgi-group by hand.
We had some issues with the changes 'sticking' past a SuSEconfig run,
but we also had some major group muckups. Once those were sorted, and we
actually had a proper group to match the gid, all was well.
Thanks!
My Python is sadly lacking, I'm afraid. I was able to use the method
below to search for a string in the address and remove it. Reckon it's
worth adding to the FAQ?
Cheers
Adam.

I'll see if anyone has added regular expressions in member-removal

The FAQ has an example with a comma - but curly quotes are another

Any clues would be handy!

..on a HTML note here - has anyone done any serious hacking of the
'look and feel' of Mailman?
I've spent a few days crafting up a new web interface for an MM 2.0.x
install here [one that gives up valid HTML even], but it requires
modification of files that look likely to get over-written every ti
hmm. seems the preceding discussion is a good example of why 'reply to
list' could be a bad thing ;-)
reply-to-list is a *configurable* thing, on a per-list basis, without
needing access to anything except a MM list admin interface. I'd hope
system admins of any experience would be able to handle
