The problem was an obscure typo in mm_cfg.py. Missing single quotes,
basically. It's "obscure" because it wasn't very obvious... and I
looked over everything with a fine-toothed comb, including our proxy and
httpd setup!

I am having a problem with receiving any mail by the web server. On the
other hand, outgoing mail is deliver okay. I suspect that it may be due
to a misconfigured postfix.
I have tried all of the steps in the faq without any avail:

failure-to-confirm which we believe is, in part, because of
confirmation mail's subject line.

a bit concerned because the mailman logs don't include any information
as to why.
First, the exim logs show that the message was sucessfully received

is there a way I can set options for mailman accounts on a specific
server with more than one list globally (similar to what you can do
via the web interface by ticking the 'set globally' box)?
I'd like to do this for options that you can adjust via the set
command - so e.g. 'set ack on' f
