Thanks to everyone that responded privately via email. The problem was an obscure typo in mm_cfg.py. Missing single quotes, basically. It's "obscure" because it wasn't very obvious... and I looked over everything with a fine-toothed comb, including our proxy and httpd setup! It seems to

I installed Mailman on top of XMail following the guidelines of http://www.ubaight.com/xmail/BeginnersGuide.html. I now receive mails that are sent by the admin but mails sent to the list are not forwarded to the members. All qrunners are launched and the mail method has been set to SMTPdirect.
