You'll probably get a better response on a FreeBSD mailing list... but
(from memory), the proper location for FreeBSD startup script is
/usr/local/etc/rc.d/
If that doesn't work you might try: man rc.conf

It looks like either your cron daemon is not running (for Mailman
versions 2.0.x and below) - or your mailmanctl daemon is not runing (for
Mailman versions 2.1.x and above).

I had to make my mailing list moderated for some days. I used the emergency
option for that. but now i have all moderate fields off but mailman always
tells me and the users that the list is moderated. I don't want to delete
that list and make a new one. I hope someone can help me
