would be really convenient if the list owner could simply reply with
some incantation to the notice that there is a request pending. Does

Is there a way to configure mailman to simply drop mail sent from people

Yes, if you send a "HELP" message to -req
Yes, it can be done. However, it all depends on your Unix account. I'd suggest using
an email filter; try looking for procmail availability in your Unix account or compile
one (if you are allowed) from procmail.org. Other filters that you might want to
search for: elm filter, mh filter, etc. O
Hi there,
We're looking into using Mailman to replace
our current Majordomo setup. We're running into a problem with respect to
pipermail, however. We have extensive archives under a hacked hypermail
format.
We need to keep all our archives together, whether
that be in piper- or hyper-mai

So I setup a mailman server, and being a bright soul, I didn't set the

Hi,
Mailman has been working great for us, until the last three lists. I added

Hello there,
I'm new to the world of Mailman. I'm having trouble accomplishing something
that, I think, should be quite simple. I have done searches on Google to no
avail.
Anyway, I have a broadcast e-mail list set up for a client. They send out

Can someone explain what the sync_members command does exactly?
The FAQ says: sync_members: synchronizes mailing list membership with a

but I'm not quite sure what that means..does it create a text file or does
it import a text file...
thanks,

Hello,
I pay to remotely host my websites. At present, the only service
they provide is straight Majordomo. The users on the lists I run all

I've looked at the various online archiving options for Majordomo
lists but they all require that the some

WorkAround: put the users address in your local /etc/aliases file:

Then subscribe him to your lists using: cool-man_coolplanet@localhost

Hi there,
I am using a web forum to send messages to a gated Mailman list. I send a
custom Message-Id: header and Mailman seems to retain that. In other words,
when I receive the message in my inbox (I'm a member of the list), it has
the same Message-Id: that was generated by the forum script.

Here is how things stand on my server now. I install
