Not only that, but remarkably often the obvious change is the correct

Mailman is Open Source so you should be able to modify the news to mail
gateway and change the sender so that it is always -admin.
Yes, yes, yes. You believe it is beyond your abilities or it will take a
monstrous amount of work on your part, alas, but you are wrong. Take a look
at the code.
IS there a tool that allows the modification of the membership database
remotely so a new copy of the file can be uploaded. What tools are
available for membership management besides the admin page and the local
command line utilities?
thanks for any help

Tick the 'subscr' instead. Or use ./bin/remove_members

OK, before I start - I had Mailman 2.0beta something set up for quite a
while, running several lists without any problems ... yesterday, I moved
a list with 650+ members to this machine ... so far, so good - I sent a
mail out, which worked fine, too ... except that after it was sent, it

Tom, when I first moved my 1800-member list to mailman, it had upwards of
200 dead addresses. Those 200 dead addresses caused a lot of bounces, and

I am curios how to stop a news group poster from getting spammed

Does that make sense?
In the case a list member of the suspect group is not reachable.
I have two problems happening right now with MailMan 2.0.8
The first involves qrunner, what happens is that a list gets locked
and no mail will go through it. This is what is shown in the log. The
lock is created in the locks directory, the qrunner process is no

I'm trying to install python 2.2 on solaris 7 os 5.7 sparc.

Just to keep you up to speed with the most recent findings on stripmime.pl running

As presented on the stripmime web site, the alias does not work. I had to do the
following workaround (helped by a linux guru from
another list I am a member):

I had this same problem. You will need to upgrade to Python 2.2 to get it to
work.
