Pretty much that's what I do, and it's worked well for over a year. Don't
forget to back up the /etc/aliases file as well, and your /etc/httpd/conf
directory.

Hi Chris and Jon,
Thanks very much for getting back to me.
Jon, I'm hoping you can tell me a bit about Mailman and its limitatins. If
we could use it the way we desire, I would contract you to set it up for us.
Can we impliment Mailman for up to 100 lists with with up to 30,000

Well, that's the solution with the current Mailman. Something stronger

going to happen in the very near future.
Thinking about it, maybe such a solution can be implemented with procmail and

No idea. I'd check the documentation. I believe (and I haven't researched
this) that it will trigger digests for all lists on that particular Mailman
system. I'm sure if I'm wrong someone will pipe in that knows a bit more
about it.

Hi all,
I'm trying to correlate posts logged in logs/post with messages sent in
logs/smtp. The idea is to be able to say, "subscriber W posted a message
of size X to list Y which was delivered to Z subscribers", allowing the
generation of some per-list and per-site statistics. Question:

My MTA is an Iplanet Messaging Server 4.15
I’ve compiled
Mailman without errors. Created a list called humor.

I think I found the answer after digging through the code.
It appears that the Python re module is used. Does this mean we can use the
Python re module extensions in "Hold posts"?

I did this:

After going to the mm-2.0.8 this weekend, one of our list admins whined
that their digested lists were now having the information from the

Hi Gerald,
I wish I could say that is my solution - I am still having problems and am
sure it is to do with the httpd or python binary not running on a suid
partition - therefore I am going to ask for further info from the list and
if required make changes later (when I am closer to the machine)
I got --with-ownername and --with-ownergroup from the INSTALL file:
--8<---
- Add a new user called `mailman'. Typically this is added to
your /etc/passwd file. If username `mailman' is already in use,
choose something else unique and see the --with-ownername fla
