Sorry for carrying on a conversation with myself--but I wanted to give the details of
this situation, in case it might, indirectly, assist someone else. (I benefited by
looking through the archives, so someone else who has the same problem as me might as
well.) It turns out my problem was wit
I have gotten this error twice in the past two days...
I am trying to track down which list may be generating it, but
so far no luck. The only thing of note is that the machine was
rebooted 2 days ago (power outage). The box is called mail along
with other names...

Of course, there is nothing to prevent any software devloper to develop
idiotic auto responders. If Mailman had an idiot-proof filter for such
things, some
Strike that! It does seem to be a cron problem, though I still don't know how to fix
it. Once I gave the queue command:
/usr/local/Python-2.0/python -S /usr/local/apache/htdocs/mailman/cron/qrunner
all the messages got sent. But why isn't my mailman crontab file working, and why

Hi--I've got what seems to be a common problem: Everything seems to be working fine,
but messages won't get sent--and there are no error messages (in mailman/logs or
/var/log/maillog). I'm pretty sure the aliases, wrapper, etc. are all correct and in
working order.
There are files in mailman

I was surprised this morning to find a Yahoo list that I manage send out
300 copies of copies of copies because a subscriber had an autoresponder
turned on. Surprised because I would have assumed there was some
automatic detection and blocking of this sort of thing.
So my question is this: if I

Hello,
I just joined this list, as I'm considering the mailman
software to run my email lists. I have a basic question that I can't
seem to find the answer to:
Once installed, how many lists can I create with this
software?
I know that I will have more questions - but for now, that
