I installed Mailman 2.0.2 on a linux mandrake 7.2 with postfix .
(BTW: I used the RPMs from cooker/contrib . I had to rebuild them, and
also to change the GIDs for cgi to apache and for MAIL to nobody . A small
change to the spec file, just in case someone wants to do that).

Does anyone know of any easy way to rename an existing Mailman list?
I would like to avoid having to reconfigure the list entirely from
scratch.

I've recently had to reinstall a lot of apps due to a failed disk. One of
these was mailman which has worked fine for ages on the previous installation
but I can't seem to get it working now (I didn't do the original
install).Here are the details : -

I've been a little embarassed to ask this, but, all the stuff I have tried
has failed, so here goes:
I was running mailman successfully, on a mandrake 7.2 box, with the
standard load of stuff.
I'm using the same box to run virtual hosting for two domains, and was dumb
enough to not save a copy
Never mind. It turned out to be a bad Ethernet cable. I was thinking it
might have something to do with using Python < 2.0.

My problem is that when I copy a file from my PC directory the file appears
in the shared SAMBA directory with file owner root
How it is possible when I copy a file the user owner not to change?
