How can I record a stream whcih can be played directly by QuickTime or VLC ? You could try recording ".mp4", ".mov" or ".avi"-format files. See http://www.live555.com/openRTSP/#quicktime However, there's no guarantee that this will work (so please don't complain if they don't :-) -- Ross Fin
