It took me the better part of two full working days, but I discovered
the solution. I would like to post the answer in case somebody else gets

I suggest using the "testRTSPClient" code - rather than the "openRTSP" code -
as a model. The "testRTSPClient" code makes it clearer how to deliver the
separate audio and video streams to their own 'sink' objects.
