OPTIONS command being sent by livemedia to the camera.

Hi,
I found out the reason of the 5 second delay. It's coming from the
ourIPAddress() function in GroupsockHelper.cpp where a multicast packet is sent
to determine the source address. This sometimes seems to fail so the readSocket
function hangs for 5 seconds. The reason it fails is probabl
Hi,
Does anyone have an idea why the call to MediaSession::initiate() could take 5
seconds to complete. I cannot simulate this problem on my PC but other PC's
seem to experience this 5 second delay when connecting to the same server.

Hi,
I would like to be able to let the client survive a 15 second ethernet cable
disconnect when streaming over TCP! Where exactly in the code would I have to
make modifications to make this happen? I suspect the problem lies with trying
to send RTCP packets?

Hi Ross,
Yes I have. Each thread runs its own "UsageEnvironment" and "TaskScheduler"
objects, so it should be okay!

Ok, it's a fact that the memory will be reclaimed by the operating system on
program exit, but it's not nice to see all those memory leaks reported by
boundschecker on program exit ( i'am running under windows by the way ).

Hi Ross,
One more question, what is the proper way to shutdown the LIVE555 media server.
The demo source just enters an
endless loop, and if the program is forced to exit you get lots of memory
leaks. Could you enlight me with the proper
shutdown procedure?

Hi Mojtaba,
Writing a tutorial takes some time, which for the moment I don't really have,
sorry. But in short, what I did to create my streaming server was to:
1) Create a custom DeviceSource class derived from FramedSource ( see FAQ,
based on liveMedia/DeviceSource.cpp and liveMedia/Devic

sequence numbers or am I mistaken? What would be the simplest way to detect
this?

In the FAQ, I read that to implement live streaming you have to created your
own FramedSource subclass to encapsulate your input source. In essence in the
deliverframe you have to copy your frame data to the fTO.
What I don't understand is where the frame memory ( pointed to by the fTO
