Agreed, in a general case, MTU is 1500; but for network owners (with control of
routers), or for point to point applications, control/use of this parameter is
flexible (helped sometimes by "path MTU discovery").

while testing Live555 client (e.g. openRTSP, even on April 9th release)
with our RTSP server while serving larger IP packets (containing MPEG-2
TS but that might impact other modes).
Above a certain IP packet size, openRTSP doesn't
