is fine if it is saved directly to disk and then played using VLC (for
example), I guess VLC is able to read ahead and deliver the frames at
the correct times.

ets interface. I had thought about simply
writing the frames to a socket and reading from that socket in the
DeviceSource, hoped there was a nicer solution but I guess it's not that
bad. If anyone has any examples of this it would be most appreciated.

so end up having to use a large buffer which adds unacceptable delay.
