I am trying to add in support for the cxd2841er on the rtl28x usb devices.
With mn88473 and others, the config structure has 'struct dvb_frontend **fe',
but it's not in the cxd2841er config.
Are there any plans to add it in? Should I change it and wherever else it is
required, or should

Like my previous email, I complained that dvbv5-scan does not find ANY DVBS2
channels on Astra28E, even with a single transponder listed in the source
frequency file.
I complained about this on 05/02/2016 15:05 and nothing has so far been does.
It STILL fails.

nothing has been done.
This patch, reproduced below adds 2 new transponders to Astra 28.2E and removes
a trailing space. This trailing spaces causes dvbv5-scan to segfault.

I am guessing that it might be usable for audio capture, but
nothing about the video.
This is on a Slackware 14.0 system.
My wife can still use it on her MS-Windows 7 laptop, but I was hoping to
play with it as well.

ested the coax input thru my HVR-1850 using xawtv and while it had no
audio the video was good although slightly greenish. So I don't
suspect the coax cable, especially since when connected to a standard
TV it produces a good picture.

Thanks for the info. The V4L2 spec is helpful, and the terminology allowed me
to do some accurate googling. In fact I found a Ruby extension (hornetseye)
that uses the V4L2 driver - I can probably make some progress going down that
path.

Add support to uvc driver for NOMMU arch including add function
uvc_queue_get_unmapped_area() and make some changes in uvc_queue_mmap().

Compiled with kernel 2.6.28; there's was a minor glitch that I was able
to work around: a missing macro definition in saa7134-alsa.c
(alsa_assert).
Driver loads and the card is recognized.
