Hi all,
in the meantime I received the following from Craig:
I resolved the issue. I thought importing was a way to START a new file.
But, I discovered that I had to have a new file BEFORE I could import,
and then it went smooth as glass.

In the file import pull-down menu, there is a selection for .QIF files,
but it is grayed out. I exported a .QIF from Quicken, and need to start
my new financial management efforts in KMyMoney. Your help is great
coveted and appreciated.

David,
I've had the same experience with prices changing dramatically. I find it
easier to just check that the returned price makes sense and then adjust the
scaling factor for the stock if necessary.
