I was trying to set up my bank to see if I could download QFX files directly
into KMyMoney.
I hadn't found any mention that the bank had to supply the OFX file format for
this feature to work and the error didn't t

The error code looks more like a JSON response to me. This is not what the OFX
protocol expects.
Where did you get the URL and other information for online access from? Does
your bank claim to support OFX online
