In my particular case, i installed the nvidia driver off the nvidia site, and
everything was good for about a week. I then
experienced the blurry text yesterday.
I searched the sites and what i read ranged from reboot to remove and
re-install unity. That seemed extreme, so logged out of unity
Upstream fixed this bug with commit
85fbd722ad0f5d64d1ad15888cd1eb2188bfb557. I didn't test that myself yet,
but if that commit can be included in an ubuntu kernel package, I'll be
happy to test to confirm if it works.

I did the same with the current vanilla git (3.11-rc7) but it is still stuck at
"loadig initial ramdisk".
I did a make odlconfig. could be that there is on option missing somewhere
and/or my EFI install is buggy.

The issue is that I'm so far not able to boot from 13.10 after the installation
(the image on the usb key boots most of the time with acpi=0).
I'm stuck with the same error as reported by Ma Jun in #7

Ubuntu fails to properly boot on Macbook Air 2013 6,1 & 6,2

Maybe we should setup a wiki but let me ask a side question here:
How do you get the wifi up and running on a 3.12-rc1??
I have tried to install bcmwl-kernel-source and/or to follow the instructions
of http://uli-heller.github.io/blog/2013/06/24/macbook-air/
Whatever I do, I see my wifi network b
My wifi router was configured in b+g+n mode.
It looks like the broadcom driver does not like the n mode (or my router does
not fully "n" compliant).
Anyway, it works in b+g mode. I haven't tried yet in a+n mode.
Is the "n" mode (much faster) supposed to be supported by the broadcom
driver?

I'm using a docking station. If I suspend the laptop when it is docked
and resume after undocking it, the screen stay blank. I have to long-
press the power button to reboot.
This is a regression in 13.10, was working fine on 13.04 with the same
laptop.

If I remove the DVD reader from the docking station, then the issue is
solved. That really sounds like upstream bug

not change anything to the issue.

and that fixed the issue.

Note that the upstream patch says it's an ugly hack. I don't know if
they'll apply that or work on better solution.

Yes indeed : kubuntu saucy is now installable without any extra option.
All the other issues (sound and touchpad) are solved in 3.12-rc3 except the
libata.force=noncq story.

The watchdog drivers are present in the linux-image-extra-*-virtual
package. Since they are not added installed by default to virtual
installed, they must be manually installed by issuing the following
command in the virtual machine.
sudo apt-get install linux-image-extra-virtual

I was getting this same thing with a Microsoft Designer Mouse but after
running `bluez-simple-agent` and using pin the mouse pairs and the
'New Device Setup' says "Succesfully set up device 'Designer Mouse'" but
it doesn't work. In the Bluetooth devices it says 'Paired Yes' but the
'switch' on
I had the same issue while trying to upgrade to Kubuntu 24.04 or install
Kubuntu 24.04 from scratch. I get a black screen at startup.
My graphic card is also an AMD GPU : Radeon RX 7800 XT.
